China donates 200,000 euros to Kenya's Red Cross
China donated 200,000 euros in humanitarian aid to Kenya's Red Cross Society on Monday. It marks the third time in a short period of time that the Chinese have given a cash contribution to Kenya.
Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Zhang Ming says that China is deeply concerned by the humanitarian situation in the African state. The aid "conveys the goodwill from the Chinese government and its people," Xinhua quotes Zhang as saying.
The aid comes shortly after a 20,000 euro contribution from Kenya's Chinese community and a 38,000 euro donation from the Red Cross Society of China.
Abbas Gullet, secretary general of the Kenyan Red Cross Society, welcomed the aid and said he hoped peace would soon return to his country.
